Perspectives
Update:
Tsuji Keiko has a new website http://www.tsujikeiko.com/, and you can see samples of her work there or on her Flickr Photostream

I've been on an artsy kick of late, and have been surfing a lot of art/design blogs. I came across an entry somewhere (I forgot where) that highlighted the work of Tsuji Keiko (辻 恵子). The image above is a sample of the kind of pieces Tsuji creates. Basically carving out new images from a combination of positive and negative space on print media. Or as she describes it herself:
I am truly fascinated and amazed by her knack for seeing and extracting beautiful cut-out figures from pedestrian print material.

You can see samples of her work on book covers.
Two individual exhibitions with more interesting cut-outs:
Pieces of Days and MOJI.
If you're in Tokyo this month, do check out Tsuji's solo exhibition Shin Bun Shi from 17-28th at Hinagiku Cafe and Gallery.http://www.tsujikeiko.com/

Using her MUJI scissors,
and pieces of newspaper,
she cuts out tiny figures.
